The panel “Securing a Modern Homeland: A Discussion on Evolving Security Threats and Challenges” will explore the dynamic and multifaceted threats facing homeland security today. Four DeSales undergraduate students will present their research on current threats to the homeland, including the fight against narcotics trafficking at U.S. borders, the impact of cyberthreats on critical infrastructure, and the role of online platforms in terrorist radicalization, recruitment, and mobilization. Through these discussions, the panel will highlight the complex interplay between technology, security, and policy, offering fresh insight into the challenges and strategies crucial for securing a modern homeland.
